Women leaders in online learning at St. John’s Manhattan campus

Online learning leaders present Oct 1, 2015

The Women’s Leadership in Online Learning panel discussion of October 1, 2015—co-sponsored by the ACE Women’s Network of NY, St. John’s University and the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) and held at the St. Johns University Manhattan Campus—drew participants from around New York State and New Jersey.   A panel of five online higher education experts, including Elizabeth Ciabocchi, Ed.D. (St. John’s University), Amy Gaimaro, D.B.A. (Molloy College), Kathleen S. Ives, D.M. (Online Learning Consortium), Christine G. Shakespeare, Ph.D. (Pace University), and Deborah Spiro, Ed.D. (Nassau Community College), led a lively discussion on the issues and challenges facing women leaders in online learning in public and private 2- and 4-year higher education institutions in the region.  Participants were encouraged to seek out leadership opportunities and professional development in online higher education via the ACE Women’s Network of NY, the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), and other professional organizations and leadership development programs for women in higher education.
