Diane Cypkin receives Carol S. Russett Award, 2015

Congratulations to Dr. Diane Cypkin, this year’s recipient of the Dr. Carol S. Russett Award!

The Westchester/Rockland region celebrated its annual award with a luncheon on Friday, April 24, at Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, NY.

The event featured Dr. Concetta M. Stewart, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Mercy College
Speaking on the national ACE Women’s Network initiative “Moving the Needle: Advancing Women’s Leadership in Higher Education”

Dr. Diane Cypkin, Professor of Media, Communication, and Visual Arts, admired by all who know her, is an award-winning, multi-talented teacher at Pace University. She has won the Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence. Because of the prodigious amount of scholarly research and publication she has done, Diane is a member of the Pace Society of Fellows. Then, there is that whole other side of Diane having to do with the Arts and the reason she won the Pace President’s Extra Mile Award for her service to the University and more recently the Nation’s Highest Award for Community Service: The Jefferson Award. In short, because of her many years as a stage performer and director, Diane has come to see and feel first-hand just how theater brings us together and creates community, warm and alive! It’s magical! It’s wonderful! And she is exceptionally grateful to be able to do it…everywhere… whether directing a performance, directing and participating in a program, or doing her one-woman show.

Congratulations Diane!
